Mold is a fungus that can be black, white, green, orange, or purple. Mold reproduces through lightweight spores that travel through the air. When these spores land on a damp spot in your home, they can start to grow.

Mold is like other organisms, needing food and water to survive. Unfortunately, mold can survive on very little water. Most common household molds feed on wood or paper products but some types can consume synthetic materials like paint or adhesives. Mold can’t digest glass or plastic but it can feed off dust and dirt that accumulate on these surfaces.

1. Inspection – We determine what type of mold is there and the extent of the growth.
2. Containment – All affected areas need to be contained to prevent the spread of spores.
3. Air scrubbing- HEPA air filters are used to remove airborne spores.
4. Mold clean-up – The method of clean-up is determined by where the mold is growing. An EPA-approved biocide (mold killer) is used on non-porous surfaces like a bathtub or sink. Porous surfaces like wood floors or walls might need to be removed depending on the extent of the growth.
5. Restoration – walls, floors, or ceilings are repaired.
